Some babies will benefit more than others. Your baby may well benefit from
treatment if it shows any of the following symptoms:
• is unsettled
• cries a lot
• has colic
• cannot bring up wind easily
• is frequently straining despite motions being liquid
• is jumpy or startles easily
• has difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep
• seems uncomfortable
• seems anxious
• seems irritable
• has an unusual head shape, e.g. with an area that is flattened
• frequently scratches or rubs its face or head
• is uncomfortable in certain positions, e.g when lain flat, feeding on one side,
in the car seat
• has a persistent eye infection (or naval infection)
• has developmental delay
• has had an illness or surgery from which it has not fully recovered
We will usually spend a few minutes discussing your baby's case with you when
you first contact us. If we do not think Cranial Osteopathy is necessary we may
suggest other avenues to try. If we are not sure whether or not treatment is
required we may offer you a free 10 minute check-up at the clinic.
What will happen if my child needs treatment and does not get it?
There are a number of possible effects, but the most common include the child
having problems sleeping or concentrating, being more irritable or being more
prone to infections, headaches or growing pains than they might otherwise have
been.
